How to choose the perfect billboard location: 6 factors that matter
Billboard Hub · 2026-08-23
A brilliant creative on the wrong board is wasted budget. Use this checklist before you book.
1. Verified traffic, not guesses
Ask for measured daily impressions. Estimates based on "it looks busy" mislead; live traffic data doesn't.
2. Dwell time
A board beside a congested junction or traffic light is seen for 15–25 seconds; one on a fast highway may get 3. Slower traffic means your message actually gets read.
3. Line of sight
Check for trees, poles, buildings and competing boards. A photo from the driver's seat tells you more than any brochure.
4. Audience match
A luxury brand belongs near malls and business districts; a telecom offer works on commuter routes. Match the neighbourhood to your customer.
5. Illumination
In Iraq's climate, much traffic moves after sunset. A lit board effectively doubles your daily exposure hours.
6. Side of the road
Boards on the right-hand side of the driving direction outperform left-side placements for readability.
